“My favorite part of the SSM Career was meeting professionals in engineering fields and networking with recruiters.”

“The best way to navigate a career fair is to plan ahead. Take a look at who is coming and prioritize who you want to talk to. Prepare, read what they do, and talk to some recruiters and engineers to see if you can be a great fit for their teams.”

"Last year... I was ready to give up after a couple companies, but my friends encouraged me to go to the Bloomberg table, and here I am today after a BB internship with a full time offer!"

"Research the company before talking to them, and take the extra step and try to find which recruiter will be there so you can get personal with them. Practice your elevator pitch in front of a mirror if you are a first timer. "

"Go to as many booths as possible, even if it’s a company you might not be 100% interested in . Apply for positions ahead of time and mention to the recruiter which jobs you’ve applied for. Don’t start the conversation by just spitting out your elevator pitch. Ask the recruiter about their day, their experience at the event, etc."

"Keep calm and never be afraid to walk randomly. It’s okay to not always have a plan. Never be afraid to ask other people for help."

"a recruiter asked about the critical path method and other project management techniques that I have just learned in one of my courses. I was unprepared to go into detail... but it has helped me to be extra prepared for future career fairs."
